Walking with dragons

¿Quién no quiere tener por amigo a un dragón? ¡Sería fantástico! Prodrías volar subido en él (ahorrarías mucho en billetes de avión), te ayudaría a preparar fuego para cocinar, mordería a tu enemigos (bien, si tu no tienes ninguno, sólo a la gente molesta ;D) y  podrías vivir mágicas aventuras... ¡yo quiero, yo quiero! Eso si, también tiene su lado menos divertido, todos lo días tendrías que ayudarle a limpiarse los afilados dientes (necesitas un cepillo de dientes muy grande y gastar todos tus ahorros en pasta de dientes...), tendrías que hacerle la manicura (¡urrg!)  o limpiarle y abrillantarle TODAS las escamas, pero a pesar de todo esto, creo que merece la pena, ¿no? ¿Tu querrías tener un dragón también?

Siempre que dibujo dragones, me inspiro en los dragones chinos (puedes ver este  boceto de un antiguo post ). Son mas parecidos a una serpiente peludas que a un dragón mitológico europeo... Si, si, ya se que tiene un aire al dragón de "El viaje de Chihiro", pero, ¿quién no esta enamorada de los personajes de Miyazaki? ¡Soy super fan!. 

Esta semana estaba también muy inspirada por que había terminado de leer la trilogía de libros de Eragon de Christopher Paolini. Es genial, muy entretenida. Además, creo que las pasadas navidades publicaron un nuevo libro, ¡el cuarto! Espero que este libro me inspire tanto como los otros tres.

Who don't want to have  a dragon friend? Might be wonderful! You will be able to fly riding on it (you will save a lot of money on airline tickets), it  might help you to lighting of fires to cook, it might frighten your enemies (well, if you don't have anyone, only it can bite at annoying people ;D), you might live magical adventures (oh! I want it, please!!!!!!!). In despite of this, everything isn't good and fun, every day you must help to brush its sharp teeth (you need a huge toothbrush and spend a lot of money in  toothpaste...), or you must do a manicure (creepy!) and clean and polish ALL its scales... in spite of this, I think might be great, isn't? Would you want to have a dragon too?  ;D 


Everytime I draw a dragon, I inspire in chinese dragons (you can see this old sketch), it's looks like a furry snake more than a mythological european dragon... Yeah, yeah, you are right,  it looks like the "Spirited away" dragon, but Who don't love Mizayaki's characters? I'm a big fan!
This week in very inspired because I finished to read  "Eragon: The Dragon Rider Legacy" of  Christopher Paolini. It's a nice trilogy. Besides, I think the last Christmas published a  new book, the forth! I hope this book inspsire me a little bit, again ;D

Welcome spring!

¡Ayer comenzó oficialmente la primavera! ¡Bieen! A pesar de que hoy ha amanecido con lluvia y frío (que comienzo más triste), la semana pasada hacia un tiempo estupendo: solecito, calor, brotaron las primeras flores.... ¡que maravilla, apetecía estar todo el rato paseando por la calle! Por fin podemos decir: ¡adios abrigos, adiós bufandas, adiós resfriados!

Como me sentía muy inspirada,  decidí dibujar un tema muy japonés, una lluvia de pétalos cerezos.

Spring started officially yesterday! So great! Despite of today it's raining and cold (how sad!!), the last week was good weather: sun, hot and the first flowers...how awesome! I wanted walking out, enjoy the parks! At last you can say: - Goodbye coats, goodbye scarfs, goodbye colds!

I was feeling very inspired, and decided to draw a famous japanese topic: cherry petals rain.

Pintura digital // Digital paint (photoshop + wacon).

Hacia mucho tiempo que no dibujaba digitalmente,  estos días estado practicando un poco. Es una técnica difícil, a la que tienes que dedicar mucho tiempo, pero  una vez que la dominas, obtienes unos resultados espectaculares. 

Desde la linea del dibujo, todo esta dibujado directamente en photoshop. Prefiero esta técnica a escanear el dibujo a lápiz (me aburre mucho limpiar la suciedad y las lineas) además es un excelente ejercicio para acostumbrarte a utilizar el lápiz de la wacom.

En breves voy a comenzar a explicar tutoriales sobre como trabajo las imágenes, si teneís alguna duda o estas interesados en saber como hago algo, no dudes en preguntarme.

Since long time ago, I don't make any digital drawing. These days I'm working on to obtain great pictures. It's a hard tecnique, you must spend  a lot of time working, but at the moment you control it, you can make amazing works.

Since drawing's line, everything is making with photoshop. I prefer this way to scan the pencil picture, because I get bored to clean lines and trash, besides, it's a excelent exercice to learn as works with the wacom's pen.

Soon, I will start to make small tutorials about how I make digital drawings in this blog, If you have some question about my work o the way to make something, don't be shy, ask me!

¡Hola!

Este  es un pequeño boceto de una niña que se encuentra ante un espíritu o dios del bosque acompañado por dos lobos negros (el del izquierda me ha quedado con una cara muy zorruna, pero le perdonamos por que es encantador ;D). Me encantan los cuentos, mitos y leyendas sobre animales, espíritus y seres mágicos que viven en el bosque y son mi inspiración a la hora de dibujar.

This is a small sketch about a girl who meets with a forest spirit or god,  escorted by two black wolfs (the left one looks like a fox, but it doesn't matter because is very charming ;D). I love tales, stories and legends about animals and magic beings who lives in the forest. These stuff is my inspiration!

Estoy super contenta con este cuaderno de bocetos, el papel tiene un color crema muy agradable y las hojas tienen un grosor perfecto para usar tinta.

Tinta Quink // Quink ink.

Todo el mundo que la ha usado alguna vez se ha enamorado perdidamente de ella. Originalmente tiene un color negro azulado, pero si la aguas obtienes unos tonos azules y amarillos preciosos. Un pequeño consejo: si pintas con lejía sobre la tinta, aparece un color amarillo fuerte espectacular. Nunca te cansas de ella, simpre te soprende, ¡es mágica! :D

Everybody who used it sometime, is crazy for it. it's magic ink! If you dip the brush directly into the ink bottle, you obtain a blue black color, but if you watering down ink, just like  you would do if you was working in regular watercolor, color changes. You get a wonderful blue and yellow shades. Little advice: if you paint with bleach, obtain awensome bright yellow colors! Amazing! :D

¡bienvenido Otoño! // Welcome Autumn!

Acuarelas // Watercolors

Una de las estaciones más bellas (aparte de la primavera) ya esta aquí.  A pesar de que mucha gente sienta una gran tristeza con esta estación, es mi favorita. Todo se trasforma, se llena de colores naranjas, rojos, ocres y marrones. 

Para celebrarlo, he hecho un pequeño dibujo inspirado en el "art noveau". 

Este verano tuve la suerte de viajar a Praga (la República Checa) y pude contemplar autenticas litografías y bocetos de Alphonse Mucha en su museo. Si tienes la oportunidad de visitarlo, no lo dudes; a pesar de ser un museo pequeño, contiene una gran y variada colección de sus obras. Yo no pude resistir la tentación de comprarme un hermosísimo catalogo de las obras, para inspiración y deleite.

One of most beautiful season is here (apart from spring). Despite a lot of people feels very lonley in this season, it's my favorite. Everything changes, and the colors of world changes at same time: all is orange, red, ocher and brown.

To celebrate it, I have done a little illustration inspired in "art noveau".  

This summer I traveled to Praha (The Czech Republic), and I saw originals Alphonse Mucha's lithographs and sketches in his museum. If you can go, I recommend to see it; it's a small museum, but have big and excellent collection of his work.  I couldn't resist the temptation to buy a wonderful Mucha's catalogue, for my inspiration and delight.
